Gareth and I made many new friends over the weekend, have come back inspired and will be working hard to implement the ideas we have had since.

It's great to have the opportunity to meet so many other photographers - from just starting out to the best in the business. We even had an impromptu seminar on 'Posing for Weddings' at 4am on the Monday morning, run by Gordon McGowan in the bar area. The 'bride' (me) was slightly inebriated and can't really remember a lot of the poses - but 10/10 for fun and spontaneity!!

I just had to write and thank you and all your staff for a wonderful weekend, you have all worked so hard to arrange this awards weekend and it was a super experience and a credit to you all. Just a quick note to say thank you very much for a great show - it was my first convention and I really enjoyed it!  As I am just 'getting going' on the wedding side of photography - it was very inspiring and very helpful.  The seminars were great and it was good to see all the products and meet all the people I have been emailing and phoning!

Particular favorites had to be Andrea & Dick, Gordon McGowan, Bambi Cantrell, David Williams and Norman Phillips.

Gordon McGowans images were fab, whilst Andrea & Dick had a great show with live practical demos, followed by returning to the seminar room to view and explain the methodology whilst going over the shots taken. Their images in their slideshows were also excellent. We were awoken to the beautiful images it was possible to capture on a very dark January evening at 5pm with just a solitary small Hotel external light!
All in all a truly great show and hope you are able to obtain some of these people next year, particularly Andrea & Dick along with Gordon McGowan.

Just a short note to congratulate you on a stunning convention, and to thank you for all the effort it must have taken to organise. Amazing speakers, and a vast array of trade which ran remarkably smoothly given the number of attendees. Also superb networking throughout the 4 days.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks for the convention and seminars, Absolutely brilliant and a huge inspiration for us beginners.

So much information in so short a time needs a bit of time for reflection and note writing! It was also great to see you and your family around making it seem less like an organisers and attendees stand off and more like a lot of like minded people sharing an interest. I know it is a commercial venture but it is obviously a passion for you all, and this makes it so much more enjoyable.

I wanted to add my thanks to the many I'm sure you received. Being a lone photographer can often be very isolating and having the opportunity to meet so many people in a similar situation would be enough on it's own, but the fabulous seminars were the icing on the cake. One request, could we have a day's event from Andrea and Dick, a whole day of basic and advanced posing followed by analysis of the images would be perfect!

Just to say thank you for some great days at the convention, form the Norwegian "bunch". We had a rough time geting hom, with snowstorm and delays, but it was truly worth  it. We all had a great time, with a lot of inspiration from early mornig till late night. We defenatly will be back next year! (If they let us in to the country.)

Yup ... another great event under your belt ... it was fab. MUCH better than last year and didn't think that was possible!

You have definitely made right decision on hotel location for the next one, though... it got a little manic this year, as I'm sure you're only too painfully aware.

I'd just like to say how much I appreciate the convention. It was my first and certainly won't be my last.

From the moment I applied for a ticket and accomodation (at the last minute) you swung in to action. Your organization and professionalism was superb and made me feel welcome.

Having attended many business conferences and shows over the years, and having been a speaker at some of them, I can say without a moment's hesitation that this was not only the best organized, but also the most helpful.

The general quality of the speakers was excellent, and we all need a bit of prodding and guidance from time to time.

There was so much to see and do that it would be impossible to experience all that was taking place. It was such a well balanced trade show - good quality exhibitors with meaningful products.

The two extra full day events were money well spent. David Anthony Williams and Bambi Cantrell were extremely generous with their instruction. Other highlights for me were the discourses by  Mitch Graf, Michael Van Auken, Guy Gowen and Damien Lovegrove.

If next year's event is only half as good it will still be worth attending.

I'd just like to say how much I enjoyed the convention and a big THANK YOU for all the hard work and effort you all put in. This was my third convention and each one just seems to get bigger and better. I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you very much for this years convention.  As always we have come away with things to improve on and new things to try.

Amongst the seminars that I enjoyed was Steven Lord's seminar, I felt that it was really helpful to people starting out in the business and gave a lot of direction to those ones.  It's lovely that you have speakers like Steven that are so willing to share their experience with new ones, it's really appreciated.

Hope you've finally recovered from the convention and what must have been an exhausting weekend for you!  We would like to say a big "thank you" for everything you and the committee do to in putting the event together - it must be a logistical nightmare but your hard work is much appreciated and we are looking forward to London next year. 

We would also like to let you know how much we enjoyed the seminars.  Steven Lord was excellent and had a lot of great advice and a common sense approach to helping budding professional wedding photographers.  The room he was allocated was definitely too small (we suspect many people were turned away) and the time was too short - he could have easily filled two hours.  His was a popular choice of seminar for many new SWPP members, who were looking for just the sort of advice and help that Steven was offering.  Many seminars are aimed at photographers who already have a foothold on the professional ladder - Steven's presentation got down to the basics.  Also, the fact that he wasn't sponsored by anyone in particular was a plus, as his advice with regard to cameras and equipment was unbiased.  His presentation was humorous, entertaining and very enjoyable.  We'd both recommend you asking him back to speak for two hours!

It has been two weeks now since I came back to a bombardment of work. At last I have some time for myself and though about thanking you for your hospitality towards all the Maltese photographers who attended the convention earlier this month.

The convention was one good ride for 3 full days and the information and organization was one to remember. The seminars where much more than inspiring and I personally had the pleasure of meeting all the old friends under one roof. I even established a working relationship with a Manchester based studio - which details will soon be released - no negative surprises here. I have to admit that I admired Juliet for being so supportive in spite the fact that she is a mother of 6 !!!!

Martin - thank you for your comments about the Maltese photographers on the Magazine. It gave us a moral boost at the right time. I look forward to see you in March. In the mean time, I am preparing some articles for the mag. which I would like you to pass on to the editor.

My friends for now that is all. Let me know of your plans in March so I can let you know in what we can give a helping hand.
