As a child, Chaim (pronounced hi-im) Bacon wanted to be a computer
engineer or a photographer. In the end he became both! His first article
on
programming was published when he was just 10 and as a teenager he wrote
some of the earliest computer games. In his first job, working for an
Apple dealer, he was trained as a hardware engineer and also began to
write database software. Since his early teens, Chaim loved photography
and the first IT recession in the late 80's gave him the opportunity to
follow the other love of his life, photography, by starting his own GP
business. After
18 months, Chaim opened a high street studio in Hendon, London, which ran
successfully for 10 years and was a member of the then, Paul Kaye
"K-Club". On opening the studio, he quickly realised his Rolodex
card file wasn't sufficient to manage the business, so Chaim wrote his own
computer
programme. Some months later, when a local photography group met at his
studio, he showed them the programme and wasn't too surprised when most of
the members asked for their own copy! Non being one to miss a marketing
opportunity, Chaim turned his programme into a saleable package
which became the first version of The Photographic Organiser - now the
UK's leading business management tool for photographers. In 2000, Chaim
closed the studio to concentrate solely on software development.
He lectures about marketing & business management to photographers
around the UK and provides a personalised two-day training and marketing
course which every is a boon to every studio. With his love of
photography, combined with feedback from the many studios that have had
the training
course, Chaim is in a unique position to understand what drives
photographers - and what they need to drive their business forward.

good business management and an average product, but will most often fail
with poor marketing even if it has an excellent product.

right side of the brain), but completely lose the plot when it comes to
