The photographic industry will be saddened at the loss of one of the ‘guiding lights’, who will be remembered for his dedication and prowess in educating photographers. Monte Zucker was a man who taught with a passion and belief second to none, his simple but effective lighting and posing techniques demonstrated to thousands of students worldwide will not be forgotten.
During the past few months Monte’s health deteriorated rapidly following his diagnosis of cancer of the pancreas, finally passing away peacefully on Thursday 15th March.
Many of his students have posted their thoughts on Monte’s forum, one comment though sums up our sentiments: ‘Just want to say that meeting and working with Monte Zucker will remain the highlight of my photographic life - there ain't nobody like Monte and the world is so much better for his having been in it.’
He will be remembered for his advice which became a by-line ‘One Fabulous Lighting Pattern’ and for being one fabulous friend.
