Bjorn
Byron Thomassen, was born in England to an English mother and Norwegian
father. Bjorn’s father was a merchant navy captain, and Bjorn followed
in his footsteps and spent a short period on the high sea’s, eventually
working as a harbour Master’s assistant/policeman. For ten years Bjorn
was also a crew member and helmsman, of the Royal National Life Boat
Institute. It was there that he achieved his proudest accolade to date.
He was awarded a Velum, for his contribution to saving life at sea
Bjorn always had a great passion for photography, and in 1994 Bjorn
gained his first qualification, as he embarked on an exciting journey
into the diverse and challenging world of professional photography. A
journey fuelled by his passion for photographing people, and Bjorn feels
that he has met many fascinating and life enriching characters along the
way
Bjorn has become a well known speaker at national and international
training events, he also runs his own, very popular training programme.
