Damien
Lovegrove
Damien learned his trade as a cameraman and lighting director during
14 years at the BBC, working on programmes such as the Clothes Show, Top of the
Pops and Casualty. Days off from filming were often spent taking photographs for
a variety of top name clients including Peugeot, Motorola, and Adidas.
"Photography fascinates me" declares Damien. "Creating instant pictures using a
technically intricate process is electrifying, and if done well the pictures can
have great value too. Making pictures is something I've enjoyed throughout my
life, and if I could paint quickly I'd probably be doing that instead. Much of
my photography is inspired by a burning enthusiasm within me" explains Damien.
Picking up a camera gives me such a rush that I'm instantly driven to create
pictures.
Damien has managed to equip himself with a thorough foundation in the technology
of photography and combined that with a true understanding of light courtesy of
the BBC. These are the skills he passes on to other photographers through his
seminars, workshops and DVDs.
Damien Lovegrove has an Exhibition here.
