Mark Cleghornswpp member Mark Cleghorn

Mark Cleghorn is a working photographer and is one of the foremost wedding and portrait photographers practising today. He still runs a successful studio and also gives a programme of lectures and seminars on a wide variety of topics but predominantly Posing, Lighting and Photoshop.

Mark was one of the first photographers in his field to fully embrace the digital technology in the late 90’s and has not shot film since 2001, his digital workflow methods have been adopted by thousands of photographers and have helped to get photographers back behind the camera in stead of sitting in front of a computer screen.

Mark is one of the few photographers in the world to be awarded a fellowship by four of the UK’s major photographic organisations the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, the British Institute of Professional Photography, the Master Photographers Association and the Royal Photographic Society.

He has won a host of accolades including the SWPP’s Digital Photographer of the Year Award, the MPA’s National Avant-Garde Wedding Photographer and 17 Kodak European Gold Awards

Cleghorn has written a variety of books on Portrait and Wedding Photography as well as Photoshop and Lighting, his Key Skill training DVD’s and Downloads are raved about, as they show a real photographer in real situations and hence show him to be a true master of his craft and an excellent teacher of photography.

The Societies 2010 Convention was an outstanding success,
we have 126 days to get ready for the 2011 convention - which starts on January 11, 2011

Convention testimonials I promise it will be the best amount of money you will ever spend, and its a given that should you take in even 5% of the info you get and apply it to your own business the trip will pay itself off in a matter of weeks - Lynsey

Coping with Bad Weather Weddings
Wedding photography is a challenging profession at the best of times. Not only do you have to be a half-decent photographer but you need to be able to react to events as they unfold, domineering officiants, deal with alterations to time schedules and, of course, be a good crowd manager.

Photo Quote: All photographs are there to remind us of what we forget. In this - as in other ways - they are the opposite of paintings. Paintings record what the painter remembers. Because each one of us forgets different things, a photo more than a painting may change its meaning according to who is looking at it. - John Berger
