Sammut Ramon
Sammut started with the help of a pro photographer and friend. He started up on
primitive digital work in the time when digital was at its infancy. He remembers
his first semi-digital output, which in those days was quite peculiar; He used
to print on coated transparent film, which produced a hand made digital
negative. Prints were produced by a conventional enlarger.
Ramon studied photography on his own and expanded his know-how by tuition in
England and the States. Nowadays Ramon earns his living from photographic
commercials, tuitions and consultancy. He was one of the first people on the
Maltese islands to find a niche market by showing other fellow photographers “
the digital way”. In the past years Ramon gained recognition by showing his
unique handling and approach to modern photography; “ I still think analogue but
produce everything digital” he babbles!
Ramon’s work is quite unique, his image compositions are very hard to produce,
he developed a style which consists of taking consecutive story shots and
digitizes the output together to make the final image, hence achieving customers
requirements and demands.
Nowadays Ramon has his main office on the island of Malta but he shifts to
Britain for most of his work. He works on editing, tuition and photography
sometimes bridging out to consultancy and business strategy for newcomers in the
digital photographic environment.
Ramon is a senior image editor / photographer with a difference. His effective
style and approach made him successful and he is considered one of the best
digital image editors in Malta, his speciality is digital monochrome which he
mimics the gold old times and flavours it with today’s technology.
His main customers are photographers, trade companies and agencies with the lust
to achieve more in today’s competitive digital world. His fluid approach and
technically advanced editing created a distinctive style, which standardised his
work and made it Ramon’s patent.

Photo Quote: Memory is very important, the memory of each photo taken, flowing at the same speed as the event. During the work, you have to be sure that you haven't left any holes, that you've captured everything, because afterwards it will be too late. - Henri Cartier Bresson
