Type business: Semi Professional Photographer

My photographic style: I really am not sure how to describe a style. I like trying things out sometimes. Other times I like to stay safe with what I trust.

My greatest strengths: I would hope how I relate to people are my strengths. Sometimes I feel I think on my feet when things don't go to plan. Learning to improvise is a good way to go. There is always more than one way to anything.

I have been in photography: I have been taking images since I was a child, but I have had a studio for the last three years. I may be giving that up soon as I get stuck with marketing.

How I got started in photography: I was always being photographed by my late Granddad. I wanted to explore the other side. I learnt about shutter speed and F stops

whilst my friends were out picking bluebells. I learnt some of it on an old voight lander camera

My photographic skills: I think there are many things technically that can be learnt, especially with lighting but expression is key, Presuming the lighting is good to go. I would like to meet models and clients before a shoot as it's always good to know something about their personalities. I think they may feel more relaxed to as they will know what to expect more.

My personality: wow, I find it really difficult to assess my own traits. My Dad said once I haven't got a bad bone in my body. I would disagree but it was nice to hear anyway. I haven't developed wings or a halo yet so I think I have a little more of the Devil in me than my Dad can see.

I like to think on the whole I am a calm person, I appear to be confident and outgoing but I will let you in on a secret, I am really not. I love people and I think this helps me overcome my lack of confidence as I am naturally curious. If I know I am right about something you would see a very arrogant side to me that may shock. If I see a mis justice I will fight harder for someone than I would for myself.

Geographic areas I cover: At the moment only Nottingham. It would depend what the job is.

Venues I frequently attend: I like the shabby chic Woodborough Hall. I also like Colwick Hall, for the light. Newstead Abbey as the grounds are wonderful and we have a family connection with the place. One of our ancestors ancestors worked there. We were once told their was a connection to Lord Byron as we had items passed down the family but we are not sure how, or if their is a blood tie.

I found inspiration from: So many here. Some amazing Photographers. I love the great olds, Bob Carlos Clarke; Irving Penn; Helmut Newton; Richard Alvedon' who was well ahead of his time, I could go on and on but I have to acknowledge my mentor Gordon McGregor who is so dramatic in many of his images. They shout at you look at me, in a good way.

Success in photography: Ohh ley me think, I really should keep a track but not that many. I have not been successful with the society as of yet. I had a two silver awards in 2011, as far as I can remember. I have an o.n.d in photography. I got an award in Germany and the print went in an exhibition. It was called The Body Clock. I have had a few acceptances in the F.I.A.P and also the G.B.A.P and also gained a credit for a panel of 10 images. I have also had a selectors award with the G.B.A.P. An honourable mention from the photo awards, an honourable mention from the International Monochrome awards; one ages ago of a self portrait from Lord Litchfield, about 25 certificates from Arnold camera club, plus 5 trophies and a third place cup from Rolls Royce camera club which I will cherish when I receive this year as this club is one of the best in the world for winning images.

Photographic training: O level in Photography and a diploma.

My interests outside photography: Sounds strange but anything weird like numerology, astrology, the after life and Law of Attraction. I also do weight training, classes and swimming to keep fit.

Major events: Too many to mention. I have moved home 40 times. I have 3 daughters, 4 including our foster girl who always comes home now she is 25 soon. I lived in Cyprus for a while and that is where I met my husband. I worked on a Lord Byron Project with Nick McCann, who is an immensely talented artist and Photographer. I was Byron's half sister in the images and he even had me swimming with him in Newstead Abbey's lake. I also shot some of the images in his book and also for the exhibition.

Testimonials: They are mainly in my Facebook.

Why I like the SWPP: I like meeting inspirational people, seeing who is fortunate enough to have talent and win awards; the mentoring scheme;

the conventions, Face book page, the opportunity to get awards.

Tagline: Expression is everything, make the most of it.

Future plans: I would have hoped to have kept the Studio running. I did start out with a business partner but he didn't have the patience to put the hours in and was sat at desk, while he was out doing personal stuff. I really did want a team but that hasn't happened. It's a shame as the rent is really low. I am hoping I will be able to have work from it but I will need to be more creative with venues. Thanks for reading.

And finnally: Only that there may be a possibility that I may keep the studio. I have asked the Council six months ago if i could buy it, they were considering but after lots of hassle I am thinking it will never happen.
