I have been in photography: I am relatively new to professional photography, I have been shooting for three years. How I got started in photography: I work alongside my husband who has been a photographer for over 25 years, his passion for making pictures rubbed off on me and spurred me on to explore my artistic abilities in a new area. Geographic areas I cover: Although based in Salisbury, we like to travel, especially to places where we can hear the gentle lapping of waves on the beach, and feel the soft sea breeze on our skin . . . Venues I frequently attend: Who doesn't like sweeping lawns and grand architecture? Country houses and quaint hotels, atmospheric churches or grand cathedrals although more conservative venues are fine too. I found inspiration from: Photographers that inspire me are Becker, Dave Nunn, Julie and Damien Lovegrove. What inspires both of us are great surroundings, great people, other photographers, but best of all the reactions from our couples when they see their albums; this inspires us to keep going. Success in photography: We are not regular contributors to competitions although would love to have the time to dip our toes in the water and try. Photographic training: I am working towards my BA Hons as a mature student, whilst building a business, working and running a family. I enjoy seminars and workshops to top up the brilliant tuition that I receive at Uni. My interests outside photography: I love colour and texture and when time permits I can lose myself for days on end with my sewing machine and a box of fabric scraps and threads and "paint" with my sewing machine. I enjoy the outdoors and really enjoy pottering in the garden and photographically I get great satisfaction from macro floral photography. Major events: Having three sons, two of whom are about to start University this autumn 2010, marrying my wonderful husband at the grand age of 41, cycling from Lyon to Nice; again my husbands influence and being accepted into university at the age of 44. Future plans: To continue building our business, submit for my Licentiateship with SWPP and BIPP and achieve a 1st class Hons in my BA degree. We are actively networking and promoting our business to great effect and taking wedding bookings well in advance. And finally: At E-mages in Print we have the joint experience to cover many areas of photography confidently. My husband has combined his photography experience in parallel with a print business for many years and so we are able to offer the full service from capture of image to design layout and print output.
