I have been in photography: I have been a photographer for five years. How I got started in photography: I started in photography just as a pastime, mainly focusing on landscape images. The scope of what I photographed evolved over time, taking wedding and portrait photographs for family and friends. I get immense pleasure when people tell me that they will treasure the images that I have captured for them and it is rewarding to see my skill sets grow as time moves on. My photographic skills: Attention to detail, listening to what the client is asking me to produce and the ability to deliver on the promise. My personality: I have a quiet and very friendly personality, which I find works very well with engaging with the subject and achieving good results. I am very patient and do not expect images to appear by magic. I build the relationship to achieve the very best. Geographic areas I cover: Mainly Ayrshire and Strathclyde in Scotland, but will travel further afield if the job merits that. I found inspiration from: The people I photograph inspire me. Success in photography: First Point Photography diploma is portrait and wedding photography. My interests outside photography: reading and music. Major events: The recent birth of my sixth grandchild. And yes, granddad gets to take the photographs. Why I like the SWPP: The SWPP is a very professional organisation providing access to a wealth of photographic knowledge and guidance. Future plans: To build up my business and become known as a photographer in Scotland who delivers a consistent service, exceeding client expectations. I do not want my clients to be happy, I want them to be over the moon and back gain.
