Barrie Downie photographer in West Sussex Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: My style of photography is very much about the glamour and beauty of the day, A lot of my photos are directed and lit by myself to give a fashion edge to the wedding album. My greatest strengths: Working with couples to provide a magical wedding album without taking over their day!. I have been in photography: I have been a full time wedding photographer for 6 years How I got started in photography: I saw the work of Gordon McGowan and decided there and then I wanted to be a wedding photographer. Geographic areas I cover: I work across the UK and Europe and particularly like to work in Paris and Venice Venues I frequently attend: Favourite venues include Goodwood House, Highclere Castle anywhere in Venice or Paris!. I found inspiration from: Gordon McGowan, Trevor Yerbury & Keith Thompson are great photographers and I find them all very inspiring. Success in photography: I have won many Gold awards in the monthly competitions and quite a few merits in the 20x16 print competition. I recently qualified as an ASWPP with my wedding photography panel at the convention in February 2010. I am also rated by Professional photographer magazine as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the UK. Photographic training: No formal training My interests outside photography: Motorsport, Movies & travel Major events: I used to be a motor racing driver and instructor before photography took over my life!.
