Artistic style with strong design focus. Specialising in portraiture, still life, landscape and architectural work My style is predominantly a reportage/photojournalistic style, influenced by my preference for using natural light. My greatest strengths: powerful composition and use of colour. My photographic skills: I work fast. I can generally spot 'the shot' quickly and knowing my equipment very well means that I waste little time. Working in natural light brings its own challenges - harsh sunlight or changing conditions and often being unable to control the environment. It's a skill all of its own to be able to work with an unruly environment to get the images. My personality: Practical, professional, relaxed and informal Geographic areas I cover: Glasgow, west of Scotland, Scotland generally. Further afield if required. Success in photography: I don't often enter competitions - but happy clients do very nicely. Photographic training: MA Digital Media Design, Glasgow Caledonian University and a lot of on-the-job learning and life experience. My interests outside photography: Travelling, environmental and humanitarian issues, interior design, creative and academic writing, the media, cycling, horse riding, scooters, gadgets and technology.
