Bandu Gunaratne is a long standing, well experienced Photographer in the field of Wedding Photography in Sri Lanka. Not only experienced but he has gained his qualifications in the Art of Photography from prestigious International bodies such as The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, Fidiration Internationale de l' Art Photographique, The British Professional Photographers Associates etc., where non other Sri Lankan Wedding Photographer can equal. Bandu s passion in Wedding Photography is to capture every moment of a wedding as it is happening thus an Album of a real wedding would be the result. His album creations were highly esteemed by the viewers as his Albums are enriched with the real spirit of the ceremony. The reason for which might be Bandu is incessantly correlated with International Art of Photography. Having selected two entries in the Best Ten at Best Wedding Photographer contest 1987 by Photochrome/Tudorcolor- and winning the Grand Prize of the Kodak Bridal Photographer of the year Contest by KODAK/Millers Ltd. In 1996 were significant milestones Bandu s Wedding Photography is concerned. In International arena more than 180 Bandu s photographs were exhibited since 2002, at 54 International Exhibitions with FIAP and PSA patronages in 26 different countries (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, U.S.A) winning 18 International Awards. Out of these awards, Photographic Society of America's 'Best of Show' Gold Medal he won in German Mega Circuit in 2009 was the first of it's kind achieved by a Sri Lankan Photographer. Bandu has participated at over ten Photography related events such as workshops, seminars, trade exhibitions etc., abroad where he ascertained knowledge on modern technologies. He is directly connected with five overseas Photographic Societies becoming member of each of them. Bandu intends making his photography skills broadened by intellectual activities of these organizations. Bandu Gunaratne s photographic works have been published internationally in Mumbai based Asian Photography & Smart Photography magazines as well as in Discover The Royal Photographic Society & Portfolio Two , publications of The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain which is considered as an honour to a Sri Lankan Photographer. Sri Lankan Airline s in-flight magazine Serendib was adorned with some images by Bandu in it s three issues. Bandu Gunaratne s immense contribution to local workshops, presentations & seminars on Wedding Photography is too numerous to mention. Amongst them Bandu proudly recollects that the local agent for Canon Digital had invited him to deliver a presentation on Wedding Photography held at Waters Edge which was organized by Canon Singapore. This seminar was participated not only by Professional Photographers but a variety of other professionals such as doctors, engineers, professors, architects, lawyers, I.T. professionals etc., those who were photography enthusiasts. Bandu thoroughly believes Wedding Photography is a personalized profession and every moment of a wedding is equally important, thus his dedication extends to his clientele capturing the whole event personally by himself without employing any third party photographers.
