Barrett & Coe, Sheffield - Portrait and Wedding photography Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: Natural, easy and fun; my wedding photography aims to tell the story of your special day; my portraits are ones you will treasure for ever. I am creative and passionate about what I do and see the chance to record these special moments as a privilege. My greatest strengths: I listen to my customers so that I produce the images they love. I think it is essential to understand my customers so that I can take their thoughts and creatively turn them into something truly memorable; something that will exceed their expectations. I have been in photography: 8 months How I got started in photography: I turned a favourite hobby into the best job ever by training with the greatest teachers at Barrett & Coe. My photographic skills: Fortunately, I have 20 years of Graphic Design experience which has helped me enormously with the creative side of my photography. Brian Barrett and Andrew Coe's down-to-earth training and no nonsense critiquing of my images has brought the standard of my photography on by leaps and bounds. I have never been comfortable with 'ordinary' and I think this is reflected in the images I produce. Geographic areas I cover: The High Peak in Derbyshire, Dronfield and the west of Sheffield Venues I frequently attend: The Maynard Arms, Grindleford I found inspiration from: Brian Barrett, Andrew Coe, many of the other talented photographers who are part of the Barrett & Coe family. I love positive, enthusiastic people and cannot stand the phrase 'it'll do'. Success in photography: Though I have only entered the SWPP monthly competition twice, I have so far managed to earn 2 Bronze and 1 silver award. Photographic training: Barrett and Coe portrait and social courses My interests outside photography: drawing & painting; reading novels and biographies; my daughter Why I like the SWPP: Excellent communication; interesting magazine for members Tagline: Fantastic photography... by very nice people Future plans: I will be opening my studio, in Dronfield, in May this year (2010)and my main ambition at this point is to make a success of my first year there. After that, I'm hoping to get into the top 3 wedding/portrait photographers in my area regarding popularity and demand.
