After completing her MBA in 1998, she decided to study photography at the Centre for the Arts, North Herts College where she gained her City & Guilds parts 1/2, gaining distinctions in all seven subjects. It was during her 4 years at North Herts College she developed a passion for photographing people, and eventually left the finance profession in 2007 to launch ScarletDiva Portrait Studio. A venture which combines Monica's love of photography with her keen interest in fashion and beauty....ScarletDiva is a small personal studio with an all women crew, and aimed at providing a comfortable environment where their clients can relax and enjoy their photoshoot. Monica also runs Altered Image Studio. She creates and sells WaterColour and PosterArt images of her photographs of the Orkney Isles in conjunction with Orkney Images Ltd, an arts and retreat Centre/company in the Orkney Mainland, run by her sister, Lynn and Lynn's partner, John. Although it is 10 years since she enrolled in her first photography class, she recognizes that photography is an ever evolving art. With the arrival of the digital age, she has decided to continue her photographic studies at West Herts College and is also studying part-time for her Doctorate in Business Administration at the University of Hertfordshire.
