I am a photographer who enjoys the work I do, whether I'm shooting a wedding where I thoroughly enjoy joining the couple on their special day and work closely with them to ensure they have a wonderful reminder of it or spending time creating that special momentous portrait or looking out for a fantastic shot. I have always had a very keen interest in photography and as a child would watch my late father at work in his studio. My first real opportunity came when I became a ships photographer in the Royal Navy during the 70's and 80's. The cold war was on at the time and part of my job was to photograph the Russian warships we were shadowing. On leaving the Royal Navy I enrolled as a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers and began photographing my first weddings. I have continued to gain knowledge and experience along the way and have added portrait work to my repertoire. I also maintain my general photography work and I am never without a camera where ever I am. I have now mostly moved to digital but still have my old trustee film cameras still in use today. Semi Professional Photographer I have been in photography: I have been a photographer for over 30 years. Have been Semi-pro for 25 of those. Took a break for a few years to raise a family and have been active again for 3 years. How I got started in photography: I have always had an interest from a very early age and would watch my late father work in his studio and darkroom, it was fascinating watching those images come to life in those white plastic tanks. My photography really took off when I joined the Royal Navy and became a ships photographer. Most of this time was spent photographing Russian warships as the cold war was on at the time and we were shadowing them. On leaving the navy I joined the BFP and began photographing my first weddings. I have continued to gain experience and have added portraiture and general photography to my repertoire.
