His desire to control the complete process led Kelly to excel both behind the camera, in the darkroom, and ultimately to an early adoption of digital technology. Kelly's presentations explore what it takes to develop your own portrait style, as well as illuminating the business side of the modern studio. Lighting and Posing excellence are trademarks of the Kelly Portrait, and Tim will illustrate using live demonstration, multimedia and a large display of portraiture. A Master and Photographic Craftsman, Fellow of the American Society of Photographers and PPA Affiliate Juror, he was inducted in 2001 into Cameracraftsmen of America, a group of forty lifetime members, who are legends of photography. In 2006, he was inducted into the International Society of Portrait Artists. A recipient of other lifetime achievement awards, he’s been honoured with the National Award, SEPPA Awards, and has collected over 23 Kodak Gallery Awards, 2 Gallery Elite and countless Loan and print awards. Always an innovator, Kelly’s studio was one of the first to embrace instant previewing, digital imaging and other new technologies. Few can rival his experience. His studio has employed nearly every digital capture format, over a dozen high-powered workstations and a complete digital lab. As impressive as all this might be, Kelly insists, "Without excellence in marketing and customer service, there would be little demand for his high end portrait photography".
