Catherine Mackenzie Photographer providing photographic services in Coleraine County Londonderry Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: Simple, elegant, classic, unobtrusive wedding photography, combining timeless elegant poses, as well as candid photography, capturing your day as it unfolds. My greatest strengths: Friendliness, approachability, and efficiency. I have been in photography: 3 years on my on, but worked as a second shooter for a large studio for 2 years previous to that. How I got started in photography: I have always been interested in photography, but was given my first DSLR at the age of 21. I completed my City & Guilds in colour film with distinction in May 2005, and black + white dark room the following year. I moved to digital photography in 2008. My photographic skills: Because I worked in film and in the dark room, I know the importance of composing in camera, and am aware of the importance of lighting correctly. My personality: I have a sense of fun and enjoy trying different things, I am very sociable and love being with people. Geographic areas I cover: Northern Ireland and Donegal. Venues I frequently attend: Old stately homes and beaches also old ruins. I found inspiration from: I have studied the works of Henry Cartier and Dorethea Lange. I love the elegance of Regina Relang. Modern photographers that inspire me are the Yerburys, and Sofie Louca. Success in photography: I have gained my licentiateship with the swpp and am working toward associate, I also gained my city & guilds certificate in colour film.. Photographic training: As above city and guilds, and second shooting with 2 very established photographers. My interests outside photography: Swimming, horses and going out. Major events: Married in 1997, I have 3 boys 2 cats and amazing friends. Testimonials: Not sure how to send these. Why I like the SWPP : The forum monthly comps and the qualification structure with mentor me. Future plans: To continue with weddings and build on my portraiture.
