You can spend hours trying to set up an image but nothing beats capturing true emotion and feeling. My greatest strengths: I believe the way I interact with people, I hope my clients will tell you that I help them relax and have fun when we are shooting. I believe this is the case as many of my clients have become friends and my work comes from referrals. I have been in photography: Its difficult to answer this question, I have had a camera since I was a little girl, my uncle was a professional photographer working at a very high level and I used to love going out for the day with him and shooting. I guess if your asking how long I have been earning a living from photography then its 2 years but I have been taking photographs for most of my life. How I got started in photography: My uncle was a photographer and that's where my interest came from, initially it was just something I did for fun but then I decided to give up my career as a financial advisor and follow my dream. I was accepted on a degree course and that's when photography became my life. My photographic skills: I like to think I know when something looks good or more importantly doesn't! I'm hard working and always strive to give my clients the best service possible. My personality: I guess my friends would say I am easy going, I like to help people where possible. I like to laugh! Geographic areas I cover: East Midlands but I am willing to travel to a wedding, I would not be put off it is was in Scotland or Morocco! Venues I frequently attend: I find the day tends to run smoother when a wedding is all at one location but on the other hand, church weddings can be really beautiful. I found inspiration from: My Uncle Eddie was my original inspiration. Now, I would have to say good photography, I do not like massively over edited images, although they can look great, I think a natural image with just small enhancements is far more beautiful. I try to look at other photographers all the time and am inspired by local photographers as well as national press photographers who have an amazing skill for capturing a moment! Success in photography: I completed my foundation degree in 2010, this was quite an achievement for me as it had been some years since I left full time education! I have to say I need to enter competitions, I'll come back to you on that in 12 months time! Photographic training: Foundation Degree in Photography. I also attend lots of seminars and training courses where possible to keep boosting my knowledge. I do not think it is ever possible to know everything about photography, always learning! My interests outside photography: I love the sea and the countryside. Walking my dog Barney on a sunny day is one of my simple pleasures in life. Visiting friends and attending music events. Major events: I am expecting my first child! Due on the 3rd August 2011, I would definitely say this is a major event! Testimonials: I delivered the final frame prints from a wedding to a client last week. They gave me a lovely box of chocolates and a card. The card reads "We really do appreciate the effort you put into making the photographs of our special day unique. It's been over a year since we were first introduced and you have always remained professional but genuinely interested and excited in us. We wish you well for your special day in August, please let us know what you have. We will, of course, be recommending you to everyone we know!" This means a lot, its good to know that my hard work is appreciated. Why I like the SWPP: I like that it makes me continue thinking about improving and making my photography be the best it can be. I intend to enter competitions and to gain further qualifications. There are also the benefits of being a member such as other company's offering member discounts. Tagline: Capture the moment, always with a smile! Future plans: To continue to improve my photography and the service I provide to my customers. Always striving you give them the best products and service possible.
