I have been in photography: I'm now coming up to forty seven years young, and I have been doing photography in one form or the other, since the age of eighteen How I got started in photography: When I was eighteen I bought my first SLR or should I say we bought our first SLR, that is a friend and myself, because we were skint, we had just been made redundant from the same firm, and we both had an interest in photography, so we purchased a Practica MTL to spend our time on. like most things in life were people are concerned once they hear that such and such a person. can fix cars, or such a person likes taking pictures, it isn't long before you get a knock at the door asking will you take a photo of my little one, or could you take some photo's at my son's wedding, I’m sure we have all been there at some point in time. no matter what I do I just can't get away from photography. several times I have tried to stop, sometimes it's been a couple of years. But sure enough the phone will Wring or there will be a Knock at the door, what can you say when someone is in a situation and you can fix it for them. My photographic skills: When it come to using the camera I'm very patient, always being able to be discreet enough to capture those moments that you would normally use a second photographer. One skill that I have learned, thank fully not at a great expense is to be patient with people and be considerate to there needs. My personality: By nature I’m a quiet person, sometimes I can be what is known as the grey man when I’m with people even friends at times. However because of my background put me in a situation were I have to take the bull by the horns, I'll not only take it by the horns I will roll him over in the deal as well. Geographic areas I cover: Lancashire but willing to travel. Venues I frequently attend: weddings first then events I found inspiration from.: My Wife she's my best critique. Success in photography: Well to date no one has said they don't like there photo's. But really NCFE ! Photographic training: Three years working with a studio, which I didn't like, having to work under the constraints of someone else's photographic demands. And life it's self, watching people and trying to understand what makes then tick. My interests outside photography: History mainly WW II , motor cycles building them and riding them, And I love exploring, especially when I go abroad. Major events: Because of photography I have been blessed with meeting some wonderful people, and most of them have just been ordinary every day people, I have some brilliant experiences when I was younger in the armed forces. What can I say life is good! Why I like the SWPP: Being able to approach an recognized body for information, idea's form the image magazine, and being able to offer piece of mind to client's by being a member of a recognized body. Future plans: To continue to be able to offer a service to people who would normally think, that to have a photographer at there wedding or event is going to cost the earth, offering a service that isn't going to jeopardize the market by under cutting other photographers. Lets remember photography is a very fluid industry ,and time are always changing, and we need to change with them, gone are the days when a big camera and a big ego used to be enough to make lot of money from people, because of the small number of photographers. I just want to be able to offer a service to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to use a photographer.
