Background was as a record photographer when I was a Police Photographer/Scenes of Crime officer for almost 6 years. My greatest strengths: I find I am pretty good with people, having dealt with people of all types during my career as a police officer. I have been in photography: For a long time although I only went professional in 1994 when I retired from the Police. How I got started in photography: First camera when I was 16, in fact I still have it, a Yashica rangefinder Geographic areas I cover: Yorkshire, Europe and the world - but mainly Yorkshire. Although have had the occasional assignment overseas. I found inspiration from: I teach beginners and I am often inspired when some of them achieve higher things. Success in photography: LMPA; Yorkshire Region Event Photographer of the Year 2010; Yorkshire Region Landscape/Travel Photographer of the year 2010. Photographic training: Largely self taught plus night school many, many, many years ago. Trained as a Police Photographer 1980. Tagline: 'Have camera, will travel' Future plans: Theoretically, I should be considering retirement, but when I suggested this to my wife her reply was "Don't even think about it" I still enjoy what I am doing so why stop.
