It was these that gave me an appreciation of how light and the shape of a body combined to give great images. My photographic skills: I always seek to plan in advance (but will throw away the script if circumstances dictate) and pay attention to detail. My personality: Although I am quiet I do have the ability to communicate well with individuals across the social spectrum in ways that build confidence and trust. Geographic areas I cover: Although based on the Isle of Wight I can easily cover the coastal region from Dorset to East Sussex and inland to Surrey and Berkshire. Venues I frequently attend: I have no preference for an specific venues as all venues present there own challenges. I found inspiration from: I am inspired by both Trevor and Fay Yerby, and Damien McGillicuddy because they provide a spectrum of work which both challenge and stimulate my interest by showing what can be achieved. Photographic training: No formal training in photography although I have welcomed the support and mentoring given to me by colleagues over the past few years. My interests outside photography: Reading, writing and learning. I am currently completing a second degree with the Open University (International Studies). Major events: I am married and have two grown up children. Photography represents a fourth career that has included health service management, lecturing in business and management and management consultancy working in eastern Europe from the Baltic to the Balkans. Why I like the SWPP: I am impressed by how members, in particular those who are already well established share their photographic knowledge and skills.
