Type business: Semi Professional Photographer My photographic style: Friendly, fun and relaxed service My greatest strengths: Sense of humour. In life you've got to have it! Also I will dedicate myself to projects to achieve possibly the impossible. I have been in photography: In a serious way about 18 months, but on the whole I have been obsessed with photography since I left school in 1987. How I got started in photography: My Dad was always a keen enthusiast with film and printing his own prints, but I never took an interest until after I had left school. It was something I sort of fell into and never looked back. My photographic skills: I believe my key skill is communicating with people to put them at ease to have me take their portrait. Quite often most of us hate the thought of having our picture taken and so it gives me huge satisfaction if a "non-believer" becomes a "believer"! My personality: I like to joke and have fun and not take things too seriously sometimes, but I have a quiet side also. Geographic areas I cover: Hampshire & West Sussex Venues I frequently attend: Haven't had the luxury of any particular venues yet, but would love to shoot in a gorgeous Country Manor. I found inspiration from: I love and I'm truly inspired by Trevor and Faye Yerbury. They are the kindest and most genuine couple with a portfolio to die for. On the baby side of things a true inspiration and trailblazer is Anne Geddes. She changed the face of Baby portraiture into pure art. But by far my biggest inspiration was my Dad. Unfortunately he is no longer with us, but he taught me from a young age the value of hard work. I get my sense of humour from him! Success in photography: No qualifications yet, but have achieved a number of Bronze awards, plus three Silvers in the space of six months. Photographic training: No formal training or education, just huge amounts of research, practice and as many workshops as I can afford. My interests outside photography: Portsmouth Football Club......someone has to! Motorsport, but in particular F1. Movies.....it is my one treat that I could not do without for very long! Major events: Getting married to my wife Lysa in Las Vegas 17 years ago. Plus my daughter who is now 15! Why I like the SWPP: I like the common interest that every member has in each other. It feels like a big family and I have been utterly amazed since joining in Jan 2010, how friendly, supportive and helpful everyone is. Tagline: Image Making, Not Picture Taking! Future plans: I hope to be able to get my own studio and become more established in the next few years.
