My ultimate aim is to create images of you and your children which are timeless. This includes presenting your images in a classic way which won't look dated in a couple of years time. My greatest strengths: My greatest strength is my ability to create warm and dynamic relationships with my clients. If I can't get you to relax and work with me, I can't produce the images you're looking for. I have been in photography: I have been a photographer on and off since my teens. It was only in a few years ago that I decided to become a professional, concentrating on portraits of children and pets. How I got started in photography: I started out photographing landscapes; after all, in Cornwall, there is such a fabulous choice! My photographic skills: At heart, I'm a people person. I love interacting with my clients, especially the children. I think having been a primary school teacher for more than 15 years has helped with this! My personality: Essentially I'm a private person but I love meeting new people and finding out what motivates them to do what they do. Geographic areas I cover: I work mostly in Cornwall but sometimes venture out to Devon and points beyond! Venues I frequently attend: My specialty is creating fabulous portraits on the beach. There is so much for children to do, the backdrops are amazing and so is the light. And everyone loves the beach, don't they? I found inspiration from: I'm inspired by seeing the work of other photographers: amateur and professional. Success in photography: I have been successful in winning several local landscape competitions and my images have appeared on a local calendar. Photographic training: I'm fundamentally a self taught photographer. Part of this involves continuing professional development with trainers such as Annabel Williams and Aspire Contemporary Training. My interests outside photography: Well, there isn't much time left in the day. If I'm not photographing clients, then I'm out with the camera capturing landscapes. I have a VW camper so I take my 2 dogs and we head out on my free days to explore different parts of Cornwall and beyond. Testimonials: I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful photos you took of Liam and Quinn. I love the photo book and cannot stop looking at the pictures!! I am just so glad that we didn't have to choose between the photos and could have them in all in such a perfect book. We all had a wonderful time at the 'photoshoot' and the pictures have really captured the boys perfectly - in a beautiful setting as well. I am now trying to choose some to have as canvases but I keep changing my mind - I'm sure I will be in touch when I finally decide. And we will definitely be having another photo session with you - you never know I might even get in some of the photos myself!!! Emma Bateman, Wadebridge So many pictures, so many choices, I need a larger house to display them all! Children were very relaxed in their own surroundings: a lot easier than going to a studio. Many thanks!' Elaine Hicks, St. Merryn 'Just got back in this evening and the photos were on the mat! Howzat for service...fantastic! I am absolutely delighted with my pics of Harry and Ruby. I wonder if my sister has been in contact with you yet to say how very surprised and delighted she and hubby were on seeing the pictures of Billy and Ruby..and Harry! They had no idea how photogenic the kids were...natural posers! Thanks a lot Lindsay!' Linda Dakin, Harlyn Bay Why I like the SWPP: The SWPP is very proactive in supporting photographers through their magazine and their fantastic show held every year in January. They strive to set standards to which all professional photographers aspire through their mentoring programme. Tagline: 'Contemporary yet timeless' Future plans: To increase my client base for bespoke children, family and pet photography. And finally: I don't do weddings: sorry!
