Children at play, funny, romantic moments - largely unscripted. My greatest strengths: Being interested in creating slide shows on computer I give each couple a free DVD of their wedding photographs set to classical / romantic music. I like working for local young couples - who are not rich - but want good natural photographs at a reasonable price. I have been in photography: I started taking photographs when I was about fifteen but did not start to photograph weddings until 1995 when I went on a weeks training course run by a master photographer. Many weddings followed some big and some small. How I got started in photography: Having been interested in photography for many years I went on a training course which was run by a SWPP member who was a master photographer and have since photographed 200 + weddings. My photographic skills: My interest in photography goes back to childhood. I also have an interest in video and making slide shows on DVD which is usually of interest to modern couples who want more than just an album. I am also interested in art & design and like make each album special. My personality: I like to think of couples and their families as friends. Being a friendly, easy going type I enjoy working with local couples in and around Worcester - rather than high pressure, big business types further a field. Geographic areas I cover: I work fairly local : Worcestershire and The Cotswolds. Being a small `one man band` I do not want to travel all over the UK. Besides which I find Worcestershire folk nice and friendly to work for. Venues I frequently attend: All kinds of venues "Variety being the spice of life". However I always find Stately homes and interesting old houses make for more interesting photographs. However these are hard times and I do many weddings at local registry offices. I found inspiration from: All kinds of magazines provide inspiration such as `Hello` but I also subscribe to several photography publications which provide inspiration. Photographic training: I have belonged to various camera clubs since I was fifteen, Then went on a professional course run by a SWPP member in 1995 and have been on many day and weekend courses since. I am `self taught` and prefer to photograph `real ` people rather than do lots of `arty` things which make them look unreal and artificial. My interests outside photography: My other interests include rambling and I also belong to the town twinning association - so trips abroad and I enjoy a good book. Why I like the SWPP: The SWPP is a great organisation which really helps the photographer. And finally: I have no great aspiration to be the world’s greatest photographer. Just a really good local one.
