Derek Wilbraham has an Exhibition here. Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: My style is to find out what my clients like and take that type of photograph to ensure their images are personal to them. (Much more difficult than having a 'style' and shooting the same things every week). My greatest strengths: My ability to make people relax and have fun whilst the photographs are being taken. My sense of humour and people skills I have been in photography: Full time 21 years How I got started in photography: A life long interest in photography but a Work friend was very disappointed in her Wedding Proofs so I took her bridal party to a park and had fun taking pictures that they loved. Brides brother was to marry a few weeks later and they persuaded me to take the photographs. I loved every second of it and never looked back My photographic skills: I have considerable people skills from my previous occupation and they helped a lot with my organisation and speed at weddings. Full range of camera skills which I pass on to others as Chairman of Stourport on Severn Camera Club. My personality: Friendly outgoing and dedicated to excellence in photography Geographic areas I cover: The whole of the midlands are but have been to do Weddings in Prague, Maiore, Tenerife, and later this year Mauritius. Venues I frequently attend: Birtsmorton Court, Château Impney, Hanbury Hall, Davenport House, Ludlow Castle, Eastnor Castle. Rowton Castle, Hawkestone Park Hotel, etc I found inspiration from: Ansel Adams was my photographic inspiration as a young man but I chose to follow my own path a wedding photographer so my inspiration is the look of pure joy on my clients faces when they see their pics for the first time. Success in photography: LRPS, LSWPP Photographic training: O & A level photography, B tech courses and RPS training. My interests outside photography: Hill Walking. Major events: A period of Police Service equipped me with invaluable people skills. Community Champions Award in 2007 for bringing Photography to the local population. Testimonials: Over 850 Weddings completed, hundreds of testimonials (see web site for a few) Why I like the SWPP: Great organisation especially for beginners. I have been a member for many years and love it. Its great success has obviously taken the "family" feeling away a bit but that is progress I guess. Tagline: Fun, stress free Wedding Photography Future plans: As I shoot for the National Trust Midland Region, which is now a large part of my time, I aim to pass my Wedding Business on and retire in a couple of years.
