[Photokina, 26 September 2006] Kingston Technology today announced the launch of its 1-GB MicroSD memory card, expanding its range of high-capacity mobile memory solutions. The increased capacity and compact format is essential for users of current and next generation multifunctional mobile phones that require more memory to support feature rich content including MP3 players, video-downloads, high-resolution cameras and mobile gaming.

Kingston Technology’s MicroSD cards come with a Secure Digital (SD) adapter for use as a full-size SD card. To protect against accidental data loss, the adapter has a built-in write-protect switch. The new 1-GB capacity card joins the 512-MB and 256-MB cards. Larger capacities will continue to follow, as Kingston Technology aims meet the fast growing demands for digital content and rich features on mobile devices.
