Hireacamera.com has announced the arrival of the brand new Canon 7D into
stock in the first batch to be released into the UK with subsequent deliveries
of the camera not available until mid November.
Managing Director, Guy Thatcher said,” One of the great advantages of having
such a good relationship with Canon UK is our ability to get our hands on one of
the first consignments of this fantastic new camera. Unlike the 5DMkII, the 7D
uses an 18 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor so it's not full frame. It has 8fps
shooting and ISO sensitivity is expandable up to 12,800.”
The 7D features a new 63-zone Dual-layer metering sensor which takes metering
readings from the zones that correspond to the AF points that have achieved or
almost achieved focus.
The viewfinder is pretty special in being the first digital EOS with 100%
coverage and 1.0x magnification. Rather than having interchangeable focusing
screens, the 7D also features a transmissive LCD screen. This can be illuminated
in low light and allows you to select several new views to superimpose.
Significantly for 5DMkII users, the 7D allows full HD 1920x1080 movie recording
at 30 fps, 25 fps or 24fps. What's more, you have full manual control of
exposure.
Jaine Creighton, Operations Director said,” We have already had some hire orders
for this camera and we believe that it is going to be very popular in terms of
demand from our stock.”
The 7D is available to hire by contacting the sales team on 01892 603440 and
will be ready to ship from Monday the 28th September . Pre-hires can be arranged
