Calumet announces new medium format distribution deal with Mamiya

24/08/10

Calumet has announced it will distribute Mamiya medium format digital products across all its European branches with immediate effect.

The new partnership with the Phase One/Mamiya alliance will mean the new range of Mamiya cameras, digital backs; lenses and accessories will be available from stock in the UK from Calumet’s Milton Keynes warehouse.
.

Michele Channer, Calumet UK managing director said: “The compelling price position of Mamiya products means the range is not only targeting professional photographers but aspiring enthusiasts too.

Our initial product focus will be on the DM33, DM 28 and DM 22 digital backs. All three integrate with the Mamiya 645DF 6x4.5cm format camera, along with a range of their most popular lenses and accessories. RAW images are captured at 16-bit to produce files with high resolution, exceptional colour richness, accuracy and exquisite detail using 33, 28 and 22 megapixel sensors - all with the flexibility of 35mm handling and fully customizable settings. Plus all Mamiya cameras are bundled with Capture One software - a hugely popular choice amongst professionals.”

She added: “We believe this new arrangement sends a very positive message, not only to the industry but also to photographers seeking to upgrade their current system with a quality affordable option, together with the total confidence of buying from Europe’s No 1 professional photographic retailer.”

Calumet will have demonstration product available at its flagship store in Drummond Street, Euston and also in Manchester, Edinburgh and Belfast - in addition it will showcase a large range of Mamiya product through its rental locations, offering customers the opportunity to ‘try before they buy’.

The company also plans exclusive in-store events and demonstration days in coming weeks.
