Next generation printing - HumanEyes reports dramatic lenticular and 3D results
on next generation UV printers from HP, Gandinnovations, Fujifilm Graphic
Systems and Oce.
HumanEyes Technologies is demonstrating powerful 3D and lenticular production on
the newest UV flatbed inkjet printers at its partners' booths throughout Graph
Expo, being held in Chicago, IL from September 9-12. HumanEyes software allows
printers to take advantage of the newest technology to produce high quality
lenticular and 3D effects on digital presses from HP, Gandinnovations, Fujifilm
Graphic Systems and Océ.
The latest hardware developments are making the production of lenticular easier,
faster and of highest quality. New processes and materials have also
considerably reduced the cost of speciality print production.
The next generation of UV curable ink flatbed presses offer very low drop
volume, resulting in substantially high resolution, closely comparable to that
of photo quality desktop inkjets and high-end plotters. Also, an impressive
geometric accuracy of drop placement secures highly accurate printing. These
features produce very high quality lenticular printing.
"These new presses fit to lenticular printing like a glove. The high print
quality and accuracy allow for very deep 3D, as well as extremely precise,
accurate and crisp 2D animation effects. HumanEyes has tested the new presses
and has also qualified and optimized a lenticular workflow for each of them,"
explains Duby Hodd, HumanEyes CEO.
In addition to the excellent lenticular print quality enabled by the resolution
of the new flatbed printing systems, this high resolution also allows lenticular
producers to take advantage of a new line of relatively thin and therefore, more
affordable lenticular stock. These new lenses, originally designed for litho
printing, have also been tested and qualified for digitally printed applications
by HumanEyes.
"The quality achievable by the new digital presses generates superb quality on
the new lenses. The lower cost of the thinner lenses is further making
lenticular more attractive and easier to sell to end users," adds Hodd.
Overview of HumanEyes Lenticular and 3D Solutions
HumanEyes provides end-to-end solutions for easy content creation, design and
production of printed lenticular and 3D projects enabling designers and printers
to create printable 3D, flips and animated images - for an extensive range of
applications including direct mail, business cards, greeting cards, postcards,
packaging, premium products, folders, inserts and more. Wide format applications
include: back-lit posters, signs, innovative POP displays and other high impact
out of home advertising materials.
These solutions give printers the opportunity to incorporate 3D and lenticular
printing services into their portfolio as unique, added-value services and as a
strong and profitable point of differentiation. 3D and lenticular images give an
astounding first impression and are proven to provide true, lasting power for
promotional messages. HumanEyes' powerful PrintPro 2.0 technology allows
printers to create, modify and print lenticular and 3D projects, using their
existing printing infrastructure, to produce superior results. The software is
easy to use; so established designers and printers without special lenticular
skills, or previous experience, can enjoy a minimal learning curve. HumanEyes'
Creative3D professional design suite converts 2D imagery into realistic 3D, and
creates animation effects rapidly and with superior quality. An optional
LensFreeTM module is also available, allowing direct printing on clear, less
expensive substrates including glass and acrylic.
