MITSUBISHI DIGITAL ELECTRONICS LAUNCHES NEW CP-3800DW AT PMA

In an introduction that provides professional photographers with unprecedented printing versatility coupled with accelerated speed and improved print quality, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics today introduced the new CP-3800DW digital color printer at PMA 2008. Despite an ultra-compact form factor with the category’s smallest footprint, the CP-3800DW boasts tremendous print power: it is capable of outputting prints in 4x8” postcard size, 6x8” scrapbook size and 8x10” for studio applications — all off the same roll!

Featuring an improved, self-cleaning thermal head, the new Mitsubishi CP-3800DW resolution up to 600 x 600 dpi. The CP-3800DW is also blazing fast, with output performance of 30 seconds for an 8x10” print and 35 seconds for an 8x12” print. Buffer memory on the CP-3800DW is 2 frames and the unit features USB 2.0 interface for easy, intuitive connection with a PC.

Shipping immediately and priced competitively, the new Mitsubishi CP-3800DW allows professional photographers to reduce waste and to achieve more efficient prints per roll. According to Darla Achey, product marketing specialist, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Imaging Products, the new CP-3800DW brings many of the features and benefits of ultra-high end digital printers to the smaller size category. Its dimensions are: 12.7 W x 14.4 H x 6.7 D”.

“The new CP-3800DW provides professional photographers with a stylish printing solution that will enhance their workflow and provide them with greater versatility in the pursuit of great pictures,” Achey noted. “The compactness of its size belies the broad array of capabilities, most notably the 8” wide roll that enables the unit to print three print sizes off one roll. We’ve already spoken about the CP-3800DW with members of professional photographic community and the initial feedback is very positive!”

Mitsubishi’s new CP-3800DW is covered under the company’s acclaimed Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) program that, in the event the CP-3800DW fails, ships customers a working replacement unit within 24 hours for overnight, next business day delivery.

Photo Quote: Very often people looking at my pictures say, 'You must have had to wait a long time to get that cloud just right (or that shadow, or the light).' As a matter of fact, I almost never wait, that is, unless I can see that the thing will be right in a few minutes. But if I must wait an hour for the shadow to move, or the light to change, or the cow to graze in the other direction, then I put up my camera and go on, knowing that I am likely to find three subjects just as good in the same hour. - Edward Weston
