One Vision Imaging, the UK’s leading professional photographic laboratory has
just launched its dynamic new website. Derek Poulston, One Vision’s Sales and
Marketing Manager said “We wanted to set the bar high by creating a site which
was informative, intelligent and interactive. It needed to be easy to navigate,
logical and simple for the user to place orders” This task is challenging enough
for most developers but adding to this the need to be able to handle digital
images of all shapes and sizes, and then fully integrated into One Vision’s
complex production facility is another.
As One Vision offer one of the most comprehensive digital printing and Finished
Products range in the UK this daunting task could only really be handled by
those in the know. Who better then to get to build it than their very own
dedicated IT team. Already credited for writing their own digital print software
solutions, image management systems and the very first on-line social gallery
OVI’s IT team relished the challenge.
OVI’s IT team told us that they had studied many imaging websites from around
the globe before finally agreeing a complex brief. It was important that the
complexities of the site were hidden in the background enabling the user to
interact with the site. All too often websites are overly complicated and built
from a developer’s point of view. They needed to get into the heads of their
customers whom are predominantly professional photographers and provide them
with a site that was comprehensive yet fast and efficient to use.
Take a look at just some of the benefits the new website offers;

Photo Quote: In a photograph, if I am able to evoke not alone a feeling of the reality of the surface physical world but also a feeling of the reality of existence that lies mysteriously and invisibly beneath its surface, I feel I have succeeded. At their best, photographs as symbols not only serve to help illuminate some of the darkness of the unknown, they also serve to lessen the fears that too often accompany the journeys from the known to the unknown. - Wynn Bullock
