Fujifilm–Xerox Collaboration Enables Professional and Commercial Labs to
Offer Specialty Products Including Posters, Photo Books, Photo
Calendars, Enhanced with New Xerox FreeFlow JPEG Plug-in
FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. and Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) have strengthened
their commitment to bring a complete solution to professional and
commercial photo labs, combining their digital imaging and digital
printing expertise to take advantage of the growing market for specialty
photo products. At PMA 2008, Fujifilm will introduce the Xerox DocuColor®
242/252/260 Digital Color Printer/Copier, allowing retailers to expand
their business by producing many kinds of photo specialty products
on-site. Products such as photo books, photo calendars, greeting cards,
posters, fun packs and a host of other specialty printed products, can
be easily produced in-store.
“From a quality standpoint, I believe the Xerox DocuColor printers will
meet the high standards of our pro and commercial lab customers,” said
John Meyer, vice president, Commercial Marketing, FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc.
“With this solution, Fujifilm is helping our customers increase revenue
and expand their product offering.”
This year, the Xerox DocuColor offering has been enhanced with the Xerox
FreeFlow® JPEG Plug-in Filter, a component of the Xerox Freeflow Color
server option. The JPEG Plug-in seamlessly integrates with the existing
photo management software, allowing the operator to print raw JPEG image
files, without having to preprocess them through a photo editing
program. It enables the Xerox DocuColor user to more easily offer
products like proof books.
The Xerox DocuColor 242/252/260 Digital Color Printer/Copier features
include:
Fujifilm also offers its Xerox DocuColor Digital Color Printer
solution with DigilLabs Software to bring a photofinishing system that
is high-quality, customer-friendly and profitable. Available to both
professional labs and retail photofinishers, the solution enables
customers to use Fujifilm’s offering of these Xerox digital printers,
consumables, binding and finishing equipment, to create products that
meet customer demands.
“This solution builds on a long-standing relationship between Fujifilm
and Xerox. As consumer demand for specialty photo products grows, it’s
only natural that leaders in the professional photography and digital
printing markets combine efforts,” said Tom Wetjen, vice president,
Xerox Graphic Communications Business. “This photo print solution will
help consumers push their memories beyond a simple digital photograph to
a high-quality, professional keepsake, and Fujifilm is the right channel
partner to reach this marketplace.”
At PMA 2008, Fujifilm will demonstrate the Xerox DocuColor 242/252/260
Digital Color Printer/Copier and the Xerox FreeFlow Print Server with
JPEG Plug-in, showing specialty photo product samples and the workflow,
materials and equipment needed to produce these photo products.
