"Fast Track to Licentiate Qualification"

Fast Track course leading to your initial qualification.

Achieving your Licentiate is the first ‘benchmark’ in your budding professional career. It is not simply a demonstration of your ability to produce images of a ‘merchantable’ quality, rather the first steps on a journey of lifelong personal development. After 30 years in the photographic industry I still revel in learning new hints and tricks in Photoshop from my peers, positively glow with excitement when I share a new technique of ‘painting with light’. Your journey is only beginning.

Your one week course will cover all of the following topics:

Wedding photographer or Portrait specialist, we will also cover the following topics as there is so much common ground. After all, Wedding Photography is simply Portraiture at 100mph!

Responding to an ever changing market
The Professional Photographers marketplace has always been a volatile playground with styles and trends changing at an uncontrollable pace. We will examine ways of responding to change by investing time in product development.

The Pre-Wedding Interview and Shoot
This is not only an essential opportunity for information gathering prior to the Wedding day; it is also your most important pre-sales scenario. Many practitioners never even make a single sale from pre-wedding pics.

Dynamic Posing and Composition
Of all the criticisms leveled at photographers, the inability to dynamically pose, compose and crop their images is the cardinal sin. In today’s market, being different is not just desirable, it’s essential! The adaptation of natural movement into photographic ‘posing’ need not be difficult or problematic. You will be encouraged in this session to become more tuned to your powers of observation.

Wedding & Portrait Groups – Common ground
Standing your subjects in straight lines does not make for exciting groups in either the Portrait or Wedding scenarios. It is therefore no wonder that clients find this section of any session a chore and a bore. In this session we will examine group construction, sequencing and a rapid resolution to this ‘core’ imaging.

A Post Wedding Shoot – Extending your opportunities
Perhaps a little known gem in the crown of the most expert of practitioners. This is the ideal opportunity for adding some serious revenue to your studio sales let alone a stress free environment to put into images your client’s dreams.

Post Image Capture – The essence of ‘Imaging by Design’
So now you have lots of smashing images, do you really know how to finally crop and present them? Is there a stronger image lurking within that 3:2 digital format? In this final session we will try to show you how to cast that critical and creative eye over your pics before presenting them to your clients for that all important ‘Wow’ factor that guarantees further bookings. Particular attention will be given to the use of NIK ColorEfex Pro 2 as an essential creative design tool.

Lighting the ‘Contemporary’ Portrait
With many basic lighting skills under your belts we are now moving into the realm of ‘Contemporary’ or ‘Designer’ portraiture. Quite simply the ability to design and create bespoke images for every individual client. Essential stages of key planning, location research, clothing advice, appropriate photographic technique and presentation will be covered.

Qualifications Course: FAST TRACK TO LICENCIATE
Fees - £895.00
Delegates: 4 on each course
Duration – 7 Days on site, 5 active training days
Dates: TBC by networking and negotiation in 2008

NEW for 2007: "Aiming High"
Upgrade to Associateship. An intensive course specifically designed to steer you towards the valued accolade of ‘Associate’.

If achieving your Licentiate is the first ‘benchmark’ then the acquisition of an Associateship is a huge step forward marking your progress as an expert practitioner. At the grade of Licentiate you were in pursuit of a competent and average standard of professional imaging. The road to Associateship is an arduous and demanding one that encourages you to exploit your skills to the full, acquire others and develop a personal style. This second stage in your professional development is a one week course (which is never long enough) in which we will try to cover all of the following topics:

Be prepared to work hard and play hard as after this course you will need a well earned holiday! This course is presented in conjunction with Nik Software and every delegate will receive a demo CD for use during the course.

Qualifications Course: "Aiming High" UPGRADE TO ASSOCIATE
Fees - £995.00
Delegates: 4 on each course
Duration – 7 Days on site, 5 active training days
Dates: TBC by networking and negotiation in 2008

"Fellowship…The Ultimate Goal"

‘Aspiring to Fellowship’ is probably the most intensive course we offer in which we encourage you to work hard and play hard. Only a small handful of practitioners ever reach this lofty goal and certainly none of them have achieved it unassisted. Those who aspire to Fellowship and succeed often forge lifelong friendship with their peers and continue to support each other to the end of their professional careers and beyond.

It is this group of dedicated professionals who become instrumental in setting future standards and developing the art and craft of photography. They also form the backbone of Qualifications and competition judging panels and therefore the responsibilities that go with the title ‘Fellow’ extends well beyond what a creative photographer you may be.

During this one week course we will examine the following areas:-

Qualifications Course: "Fellowship…The Ultimate Goal" ASPIRE TO FELLOWSHIP

Photo Quote: I wish more people felt that photography was an adventure the same as life itself and felt that their individual feelings were worth expressing. To me, that makes photography more exciting. - Harry Callahan
