Synopsis:
Join the Societies team for three days of total creative immersion in one of the finest settings in the British Isles. Rydal Hall was built in the 16th Century is perfect positioned in the timeless setting of the Lake District. With extensive grounds and fine interiors you will be inspired by top quality instruction, fantastic models and your surroundings.

You will be guided through the three days by Master of Photography John Denton. He will be joined by some guest speakers on the evening sessions. He will also bring two of his modelling team to ensure everyone gets great shooting opportunities.

The whole event is residential at the Hall. You will live, eat and probably dream photography for three whole days.

Registration will take place at 0900 on the Monday morning. After introductions and induction we will move straight into the first session. The whole area lends itself to an exploration of natural light. John will talk through his approach to natural light fashion styled photography and then explore the site with you. You will learn how he analyses direction, strength and colour of light and uses it in the image. You will see how he poses his models to make best use of light and shade. You will work both indoors and out to create a wide range of contemporary portraits using nothing more than available light and a reflector or two. You will have probably heard the phrase, see the light. By the end of this day John guarantees you won't just see the light but be able to interpret it and utilise it to great effect. With two models to work with the group will be able to split to maximise your picture taking opportunities.

We'll aim to end the session at around 5pm to allow a wash and brush up, downloading of images before dinner at 6:30pm. Between 7:30 and 9pm we'll be joined by a guest speaker, a key figure from the photographic industry.

You will then be free to join John in the bar for a debrief of the day.
