Westport House & Country Park :-
Westport House is a truly unique Venue for your Special Wedding in Ireland.

Designed by the famous Architects Richard Cassels and James Wyatt, Westport House has many architecturally stunning rooms but those used for Weddings are by far the most exquisite.

The Entrance Hall has a magnificent barrel ceiling by Richard Cassels and a sweeping marble staircase by George Wilkinson. The staircase is of Sicilian marble, made by Italian workmen in 1858. The Drawing Room with its beautiful 18th century hand painted sky ceiling, leads off from the Entrance Hall and is where the Wedding Banquet or Wedding Reception takes place. This room is interlinked with the Long Gallery which is ideal for dancing or for a band of your choice to set up.

Westport House is still very much as it was; a venue that transports you back in time, surrounded by original furniture, superb paintings, open fireplaces and stunning architectural details in every room. Westport House caters for a maximum of 90 people inside but for larger Weddings Groups or Wedding Parties there is a suitable site for Marquees directly adjacent to the house.

The beautiful terraces and gardens of Westport House are ideal for larger Weddings Parties with the stunning views of Clew Bay, Clare Island and Croagh Patrick providing a truly unique backdrop for a magnificent Wedding Marquee.

Should you decide to have your reception elsewhere then why not use Westport House and Gardens as the venue for your Wedding Photographs.

Wedding Trivia:
The tradition of a wedding cake comes from ancient Rome, where revelers broke a loaf of bread over a bride's head for fertility's sake.
