De Volkskombuis Restaurant in Stellenbosch specialises in traditional Cape cuisine, in authentic Cape Dutch surroundings. Established in 1977, this restaurant became well known for their excellent cuisine with a comprehensive selection of fine wines from an award-winning winelist. A selection of traditional specialities, such as Bobotie, “Waterblommetjiebredie”, Meraai’s Chicken pie and Karoo Lamb, has been favourites on the menu over the years. A variety of traditional set menus for groups are available. We can tailor-make a special menu for that special occasion. We have included Food and Wine matching suggestions throughout the menu.
As an added attraction we have wine tastings of great local wines every evening at your table. The private dining room, Die Voorkamer is ideal for conferences and special functions. Your hosts, Dawid and Christelle Kriel, are the new generation of this family business. They manage the restaurant with meticulous attention to detail and real Cape hospitality.

Sparkling wine breakfasts, Mediterranean Buffets and wine tastings can be held in the wonderful Cape sunshine or around the warmth of the open hearth with good food and fine wines. The Red Pepper Deli offers a variety of freshly prepared gourmet dishes and deli products. They are well-known for their quiches and stuffed Mediterranean breads, home made pestos, relishes and other delicacies. The catering service provides delectable gourmet take away dishes and snacks for any occasion. Ideal for private functions at home or meetings.
Oak Village B&B offers the perfect stay over for any traveller or business person.
