Celebrate your wedding in a building of timeless elegance at Stockport Town Hall. Known as 'The Wedding Cake Town Hall' this Grade II* listed building, which marked its centenary in 2008, will provide an exceptional backdrop for your special day.
Stockport Town Hall has 3 areas that are licensed for marriage ceremonies, including a magnificent double marble staircase and a historic Council Chamber. The marble staircase also provides a unique opportunity for photographs, whatever the weather.
Enjoy a drinks reception in the beautiful marble entrance hall, before dining in style in ornate oak panelled rooms. Celebrate into the night with an evening reception in either the Committee Suite or perhaps choose to move into the magnificent ballroom. Stockport Town Hall is also able to offer a Bride's Room with private bathroom.
Celebrating your marriage will be one of the most important days of your life, whether you choose to have a simple or more elaborate occasion. Stockport Town Hall can offer you a package to suit your individual needs and the Venue Management Team can help you plan this special day.
Venue Management have developed three unique packages for your special day; The Intimate, The Traditional and The Party Packages. We are confident you will find one just right for you and to ensure the perfect day an Event Coordinator from the Venue Management Team will be dedicated to plan your event and provide the support you need.
The Intimate Wedding Package (available on a Friday only) is charged at £2105.00 (1st April 2012 - 31st March 2014).
The Party Wedding Package is charged at £3150.00 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) (1st April 2012 - 31st March 2014).
The Traditional Wedding Package is charged at £4199.00 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) (1st April 2012 - 31st March 2014).
The price of a Wedding Ceremony to be held in the Council Chamber, Committee Suite or on the Marble Staircase is £395.00 (1st April 2012 - 31st March 2014).

Wedding Trivia:
SHOES TO THE CAR
This tradition originated in England during the Tudor period. At that time, guests would throw shoes at the bride and groom as they left in their carriage. It was considered good luck if their carriage was hit. Today, more often than not, it is beverage cans that are tied to a couples car instead of shoes. It should also be noted that the English consider it good luck if it rains on their wedding day!
