Jon Silver has been taking photographs since he was five years old. He specialises in capturing the emotion and beauty of weddings. In the studio Jon produces excellent art and fashion photography, and several times a year he travels the world in search of imagery that helps people see unfamiliar landscapes and cultural differences as interesting and positive, as well as beautiful. Although entirely self-taught, he also nurtures and teaches many new photographers in Brighton and the surrounding areas. Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: Naturalistic, dramatic, developing and never constant... always standing on the shoulders of giants My greatest strengths: I combine a passion for photography with an equal passion for people, and both creative and technical skills I have been in photography: 39 years as a hobby, 10 years professionally How I got started in photography: Muy mum handed me a camera at age 5 & I took good photos naturally My photographic skills: Helping people to relax, feel at ease and look their best in front of a camera; I'm good with lighting too My personality: Friendly, warm, engaging, helpful and supportive of people Geographic areas I cover: Sussex, Surrey, Kent, South East of England I found inspiration from: My mum encouraged my passion for photography & even helped when I set up in business Success in photography: Won many awards & been published in many magazines & other publications, as well as guest lecturing at Sussex & Brighton Universites Photographic training: Photography as a hobby since age 5; professional for 10 years My interests outside photography: Scuba diving, skiing, being a dad Major events: When I became a dad - both times Testimonials: “A true, true professional.
