Type business: Semi Professional Photographer My photographic style: With a strong influence from fashion my style reflects the modern aesthetics of today's bride, but combines this with a timeless quality which will last forever My greatest strengths: Friendly and relaxed attitude to life. Happy to share anyone's day in the knowledge that I will provide as much support as is necessary, or fade away into the background I have been in photography: Over fifteen years as a photographic hobbyist, but semi professional for that last 18 months How I got started in photography: I always had an interest in photography, from the time I found boxes of slides from my fathers travels whilst looking through his loft as a child My photographic skills: I have an eye for bringing the beauty out of a portrait or wedding image, understanding light and applying traditional portrait skills so as to produce the best image I can My personality: Friendly and approachable. I am known for being very relaxed and it's hard to get me stressed about most things Geographic areas I cover: Cheshire, the Wirral and North Wales Venues I frequently attend: Venues that offer classical architecture and their surroundings. Beautiful gardens, great views or magnificent internal lighting and room designs. But a good photographer should be able to provide an image that inspires whatever the venue. I found inspiration from: Classical fashion photography, black and white imagery from the 50's and 60's. Modern portraiture such as Rankin Success in photography: Have received a number of Bronze and Silver awards in the monthly SWPP competitions Photographic training: Heavy investment in training. Mentored by Damian McGillicuddy and have trained with both Brett Harkness and Damian Lovegrove amongst others. I'm always learning new skills and stretching myself My interests outside photography: Scuba diving instructor for the last 20 years. Mountain biking and snowboarding. My two English Springer Spaniels Major events: Marrying the lovely Ela in May 2009. Why I like the SWPP: Strong commitment to the growth of the industry and the need to maintain professional standards.
