Jim Chamberlain

I started taking pictures back in 1962 at the age of 10 years, photographing family vacations. I went on to Rochester Institute of Technology and got my degrees in Graphic Arts and Photography. In 1974 I opened my own portrait studio in the Boston Massachusetts area specializing in weddings, portraits and student senior portraits. In 1993 I started work with digital imaging, Photoshop and digital printing. In 1997 I entered PPA print competition for the first time. Within 5 years I received a Master of Photography, Master of Electronic Imaging and Photographic Craftsman degrees plus the Approved Photographic Instructor title from PPA

After 2 hip replacements and 38 years as a professional photographer, I have discovered there is "life after weddings" My life long passion for creating fine art is now his full time profession A resident of Naples Florida, I travel the world specializing in European landscapes. Printing with acrylic pigment inks and non-traditional materials such as canvas, watercolor paper and sheet metal, he adds unique characteristics, key to making his landscapes come alive with a sense of color and design.

I have given programs in Korea, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Canada and all across the United States to speak on the art of Travel Photography, Photoshop, digital imaging and Giclee printing. My 3rd hardbound book Lifescapes was just published in late 2007, a collection of European landscape Photographs. I has won numerous Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece awards.

My future goals are to continue my art and increase the licensing of my images in the publication market. If stranded on a deserted Island, I would want a few cases of my favourite Bordeaux wine, some nice cheese, a basket of French baguette bread, my Nikon D3 and my Apple laptop computer.

"Jim is a wildly successful photographic artist who speaks from experience. When it comes to creating and selling Fine Art Photography he's on top of the game.
Turning scenic files into cash is the magic of his efforts... and he does it BEST"..... Dave Newman Author, lecturer, Master of Photography
