Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: I am a natural light, lifestyle photographer. I use available light to capture clients in their own homes and on location. I specialise in the photography of children and families.

My greatest strengths: I can see almost immediately the little things that make each family and child unique and I know exactly how to capture this perfectly in images. As I visit clients in their homes I am able to get a feel for their sense of style and how they use their home. I shoot with all of this in mind ensuring that the finished images fit in perfectly with the family featured within them.

My photographic skills: With ten years as a Primary School Teacher I can honestly say that I know children! I know how to talk with them, I know how to bring them round and make them laugh, I know when to give them space and I love hanging out with them - I really do! I am also entirely unfazed by even the most spectacular temper tantrum... and I have seen a few. These skills allow me to get to know children quickly and in doing so, determine which approach will get the most beautiful shots of them. I believe this sets me apart from most.

My personality: I am an open and talkative photographer. I love getting to know clients and finding out about them and what makes them tick. I love my home and it is very important to me that the things around me are pretty and homely and reflect my style. I think this is why I love helping people decide how best to present their images in their own home.

Geographic areas I cover: I cover most of Scotland.

Venues I frequently attend: I am a sucker for a field of wild flowers, an Autumn forest, a harbour or an old barn. The list is endless really...

I found inspiration from: I am inspired by a lot of what is going on stateside at the moment. Lifestyle photography is huge over there and women like Angie Monson and Skye Hardwick produce work that makes me stop in my tracks at times.

Testimonials: "The final images are just stunning! We just sat looking at them over and over again. Every time I see them I feel a very proud mummy. Thank you Julie for your very special gift." Karen and Chris Craigie "From the moment you arrived you made us feel totally at ease and you were wonderful with the children. Nothing was too much trouble. From start to finish our experience has been absolutely fantastic."
